This is me, Jordan Robert Scott, in my birthday suit. Bath-time is my favorite. Here I am with yellow fish -- he's about to get chucked.

Here's me with mom and dad in Dana Point Harbor. We went to Southern California to visit family and friends before Christmas.

Here's Grandpa Scott and me playing the piano.

Here's Great-Grandpa Perrin taunting me with the remote control (one of my favorite all-time toys) while Great-Grandma Perrin and Grandma Scott watch in amusement. If this were dad, I would've spit-up into his lap, but Great-Grandpa got this one for free.

Here's Uncle Eric and me walking off a great dinner in Pasadena, just a stone's throw from where the Rose Parade floats are being staged. Notice I'm wearing my Cal sweatshirt -- this is about as close as Cal is going to get to the Rose Parade this year.

This was my first date with Everly Apple Syz (aka 'E') -- it was heavily chaperoned by her parents, Ben and Brittany, but we got some quality time together.

We went to a great park in SD with Rich Landerer (of Rickland Surfboards) and his family, including wife Sandra, daughters Michele and Nicole, and sons Luke and Leo (aka Leoyoda).

Back in OC, here's cousin (once removed) Nicholas and me. Unfortunatley Cousin Kelan was at daycare -- I hear we look really similar -- must be a handsome guy.

Back home in the Bay Area -- Christmas Eve dinner with Nana, Papa, Uncle Mike, Aunt Jenny, Cousin Myella (obscured), Aunt Joey, and Uncle Leyder! That's me in the foreground throwing the fist pump.

Getting ready for Christmas!

Christmas morning -- watching the chaos and trying to get into a Sees lollipop before anyone notices (especially its rightful owner -- Mason!) Notice my cute shirt from Aunt Dawn -- "My First Christmas." In case you're wondering -- yes, I was caught, yes, it was confiscated, and yes, I did have to give Mason something from my stocking to compensate for covering his lollipop in drool. Does Santa consider Christmas a 'grace period?'

I have all sorts of new toys to play with, including a set of big Lego blocks. Dad and I made this tower for the green dinosaur (okay, dad made it, I destroyed it, and green dinosaur got a bit dinged up). I'm showing a clear talent for demolition and a solid understanding of gravity.

The last 2 months have seen significant improvements in my mobility. I've discontinued my 'army' crawl in favor of a traditional crawl. I've starting standing up (assisted) and walking (cruising) along furniture and with my new push toy. I've also made a foray into flying. I'm also making a myriad of sounds (except, notably, 'ma', 'mama', 'mommy', or anything remotely close to any of those). Since photos don't really do justice for sound and movement, I've made a short film for you -- enjoy!

Next month -- ONE YEAR OLD!

Fall in Tahoe

Fall is the offseason in Tahoe, which means unsettled weather, empty roads, and beautiful colors.

As usual, I was so happy to be in Tahoe, that I woke everyone up at 6am ready to play. Dad "took one for the team" and packed me in the stroller for a pre-dawn exploration of the local scene. Here are some of the photos from our Saturday morning stroll...

Pre-sunrise Lake Tahoe -- no wind, cold air, and a mysterious fog layer:

I was wearing my bear outfit just in case we encountered any real bears. I also got a chance to try out my new gloves. In this photo, I'm pointing to the horizon, where dad is about to miss the sunrise:

Phew - got it!

Dad got a great shot here a few weeks ago, so we headed back to get an update shot.

Dad saw this Stand-Up Paddleboarder coming and went sprinting out across the rocks to snag this angle. I suggested he title this photo "SUP at Sunrise"

The scenery out on the rocks at Commons Beach is pretty spectacular, especially with the changing leaves. Here's me taking in some warm rays of sun while dad runs around like an idiot with the camera.

Wet rocks, mirror ponds, and fall colors.

Here's me on the pier you saw in one of the previous photos. We came out here so dad could get the next shot. I was cracking jokes to pass the time.

Nice shot dad, but don't quit your day job.

Back at Rocky Ridge, here's Nana and me while dad limped back to bed for a much needed nap.

Thanks to Nana and Papa for hosting us.

Keep and eye out for my next post -- Halloween is coming!

Crawling

Today was a big day for me. First, I sprouted my first tooth! (it may have actually arrived yesterday, but mom and dad didn't notice - they kept checking for a tooth on the bottom, but I surprised them with a top-row tooth) Second, I started slither crawling! Click here to check out my new skills:

7-8 months old

I love weekends when I get to spend lots of time with mommy and daddy!

Dad got a skateboard, and now this is his favorite activity. Don't worry, mom won't let him go too fast.

I'm learning how to surf! (only on my butt, and on the rug so far)

Hangin' with all the kids at Leo's birthday party

After much convincing, Grandpa Scott finally relented and gave me the keys to the VW Bus. It still runs pretty well!

Great-grandma and I loved sharing stories about the good ole' days when we were young

Fun visit with Grandma and Grandpa Scott!

BBQ Season

This weekend we joined Mason and Cody for a BBQ and sleepover at Nana & Papa's house in Berkeley. We also went to mom's firm's summer BBQ.

Here are some fun photos:

You know how most people laugh in 1st gear, and occassionally make it into 2nd or 3rd gear? Well this is dad, flat out in 5th gear!

Here's Papa, Myella, and me chillin on the back deck. I took sip of Papa's beer while he was distracted by the camera (don't tell him).

Here's me and Tio Leyder spending some quality time on the couch...

Sunday morning -- just the boys -- making pancakes and talking story...

At the LFLRJ Summer Picnic -- Jeff Lewis was trying to make me spitup on his head, but it didn't work -- I kept it down. Maybe next year...

Nina, me, Dashiell Jackson, and Angelica -- D and I coordinated outfits on the phone beforehand...

Back home after a long weekend -- time for a bath...

Check out these kickers!

All clean -- have a good week!

Around Town in July

July 27th was my 6 month birthday -- I'm now weighing in at just under 20lbs, I'm a solid 2'-3" long, I'm starting to say "da da", I'm learning to ride the swings at the park, I'm eating fruits and vegetables, I'm rolling over and turning around at will and, much to the fear and delight of mom and dad, I'm very close to army crawling.

I love making mom and dad laugh and they love returning the favor -- we spend most evenings cracking each other up.

Here are a couple of my favorite photos from the second half of July:

Just lounging:

Here's me getting ready for the maiden voyage in my new backpack, courtesy of Kyle, J, and Cobalt:

Here I was doing my rendition of "Song of Music" in the park:

Working on my crawling -- you can see my range from the drool trail:

This is dad and me dressed up to go to the Vinton's house for GreatGrandma Jeff's birthday party. I was looking pretty cute this day -- the ladies at the party loved me -- I came home covered in lipstick and smelling of perfume.

Here's mom and me at the Oakland Zoo -- I'm doing my Puma impression:

Mom and I also went to the Berkeley Kite Festival -- these guys were my favorite:

I don't have any teeth yet, but I love to chew on things, especially this toy Nana gave me:

This is at Titi's birthday party, before they left for Cuba. As you can see, Prima Myella still has the upper hand on me, literally.

Here's Hollywood at Aunt Titi's birthday -- he was breakin' it down for a MJ tribute

Here's Nana feeding me rice cereal -- you can tell by my hands that I try to help her out -- I'm good that way...

What? Is there something on my face?

I've found that sweet potatoes make the best mess!

August is just around the corner and we have some fun stuff planned, including a trip to Southern California and another trip to Tahoe, so stay tuned for more updates!
